Hey guys - guess what! I'm taking the Engine 2 Challenge and blogging about my challenge during the next 28 days. What does that mean?
Well first off here's what Plant Strong is - very simply, it is eliminating ALL animal based products and instead focuses on a whole-foods, fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes and other minimally processed plant based foods (so no white flours either.) It totally excludes OILS, vegan margarine and other processed vegan foods. (Why eliminate oils!? READ HERE!!)
If you haven't read the Engine 2 Book and My Beef With Meat yet you should consider getting these! I found the Engine 2 book by "accident" when I was looking for a vegan cookbook at the library. I read it and it was so perfectly worded and not at all threatening that I was convinced. From there I devoured other books about being a whole foods plant based no oil vegan like Whole by Dr. Campbell, Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease by Dr. Esselstyn, The Starch Solution and McDougall's Maximum Weightloss by Dr. McDougall among many other books. (ALL of these are HIGHLY recommended by me! Fabulous books!!!!) I also LOVED the documentary Forks Over Knives - it's available on Netflix Streaming as well!
What does that change about my recipes or what I blog about? NOTHING!! Everything here always has been and always will be Plant Strong! Whoop! (This all follows along with the teachings of Dr. McDougall, Dr. Esselstyn, Jeff Novick and many other plant based pioneers!)
Well, I am going to add one thing - working out! I need to get into the habit of working out every day so I'm going to be posting my 28 days of workouts for you to do along with me if you want! I will only be doing exercise that requires no equipment, no gym, no trainers, and only takes up minimum space (because we all have very little space in our homes!)
Want to do the challenge with me? Come on, it will be fun! What do you have to lose? (You could lose weight, you could lose some medications you've been taking, etc!)
Sign up for the 28 Day Challenge Here! You can also find a great downloadable FREE E-Book from Engine 2 with a meal plan, grocery list, tips, exercises, etc - I highly recommend this!
